11 Tors challenge

We’re back with a new challenge on Saturday 19th of September 2026!

The 11 Tors Challenge is a community-driven walking event across the striking landscape of Dartmoor, organised and run by us, the volunteers of Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team Tavistock. Designed to be inclusive and enjoyable for all levels of walkers, from families to seasoned adventurers, the event offers a chance to explore some of the moor’s most beautiful and remote areas in a safe, well-supported environment. It’s more than just a walk—it’s a celebration of Dartmoor, a fundraiser for vital local services, and a fantastic day out in one of the UK’s most iconic wild spaces.

This years distances*:

  • The Main Event (~11 miles)
  • A shorter 5 mile ‘Mini Explorers’ walk
  • The returning ‘Marathon distance’ which is slightly over a half marathon distance at around ~16 miles (for the more experienced hill runners, covering areas which will be unmanned by DSRT personnel)

This year’s price also includes a £2 donation per person to the Donate for Dartmoor fund, which helps Dartmoor National park maintain the stunning landscape we all enjoy!

  • £17 per adult
  • £7 per child (under 18s must register with an over 18 in their group)

Did you know, if every participant raised an additional £20 sponsorship, we could raise an extra £10,000?! It’s not compulsory, but if you would consider raising sponsorship, we would really appreciate it. Please download a sponsorship form below and then bring it with you to the event, or post it and the money to us as soon as you can afterwards. You could also set up a Just Giving page for the event.

As always we have a new design for this year’s Event T-shirts! T-shirts will be available to order at the point of booking tickets. If you need to purchase a T-shirt separately then email the team on 11tors@dsrt-tavistock.org.uk. Please include quantity and size and we will get in touch!
