We need to raise money for an additional building for our Rescue Centre to house our rescue vehicles, as well as vital redevelopments to be made to the current building to improve our facilities and help us to continue to engage with our local community.  More information.

“Meavy – A Walker’s guide to a Beautiful Dartmoor Valley” by team member Peter Swaine, is a 130 page hardback A4 size book containing eight circular walks exploring all that the Meavy Valley has to offer the walker.  It includes over 200 photographs and is packed with insights into the history of this beautiful part of Dartmoor.

Copies are just £20, and all funds go straight back into helping to keep our team operational. Everyone who has purchased a copy so far has said how much they have enjoyed reading the book and exploring the walks that have been described.

We have several establishments who have very kindly offered to sell these books on our behalf, details of which can be found below. Why not pop in and visit them, and purchase one of the copies of the Meavy book at the same time?!

Burrator Inn, Burrator

The Royal Oak, Meavy

Ice Warrior, Princetown

Fox Tor Cafe, Princetown

Scarlet’s Kitchen, Yelverton

Dartmoor Bakery, Yelverton

Long Ash Garden Centre, Yelverton

We would like to say a massive THANK YOU to all of you who made this years event the biggest one yet!  It was great to see you all enjoying yourselves throughout the day, especially after the 18 months we have had.  We had 500 participants sign up to the challenge, and are just totalling up all of the money that you have helped us to raise.

We are hoping that next year’s event will be around the same date of mid-September 2022…stay tuned for more info in the new year.
