The ability to carry out an effective rescue from climbing crags, tor tops and steep valley sides is another aspect of Mountain Rescue.  Within DSRT Tavistock’s membership, there are those who have a particular skill-set in technical ropework.  These members undergo specialist training in order to carry out and supervise technical rope rescues in accordance with MREW Rope Rescue Operator training course guidelines.

The training enables the team to be be able to carry out rescues of both mobile and stretchered casualties on a crag face or steep ground.
