Callout 8 A major incident was declared at 18:50 because of a large wild fire on the moor, just north of Mary Tavy on the east side of the A386. Initially the fire was moving in the direction of the village and DSRT Tavistock was called by the Police at 19:05 to assist in the evacuation of properties at risk. A few minutes after arrival at the RV point we were advised that the fire was now moving away from Mary Tavy and evacuation of properties was no longer anticipated and we were stood down.
