Incident 21: We were called today to assist Exmoor Search & Rescue Team in a search for a despondent who went missing yesterday. Effective searching of the dense thicket-stage plantations was difficult overnight, so we were tasked to re-search them today in daylight. A team Land Rover and 6 team members deployed to near Chawleigh in mid Devon.
Shortly before 17:00 the missing person approached a member of the public, who caught the attention of the DSFRS search dog handler nearby. It’s thought that hearing the dog may have prompted her to move.
We’re glad that she was found alive and well, especially after being out overnight.
