Incident 22. DSRT(Tavistock) was called at 0806 to continue a search for a despondent missing from Okehampton, last seen heading in the direction of Fatherford Bridge. Given that the misper had left the previous morning this still presented a huge search area, covered with many footpaths. Vehicle deployments and initial ‘hasty’ searches, including a dog team, enabled us to cover the most likely routes and sites quickly.
With late morning came some new information so we could better focus our efforts, aided by reinforcements from DSRT(Okehampton), who had been out overnight, and another dog team.
The missing person was located at 14:03. Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.
