26/10/22 Injured female walker, North of Postbridge

Incident 24. The Police called out our team at 12:07 to assist the Ambulance service with a casualty on the open moor, north of Postbridge. A 15 year old female, one of a Dof E expedition training group, had slipped and fallen injuring her right hip and was unable to walk further. The location was near the East Dart River, about 500m south of the Beehive Hut. Our members deployed with a stretcher from Postbridge car park and reached her within 20 minutes. A crew from South West Ambulance Service was met at the site and following assessment she was packaged onto our stretcher and carried over open moorland, and then a tree fallen over the footpath had to be negotiated before handover at the Ambulance at 14:07. We wish her a speedy recovery.
