Incident 4. DSRT Tavistock was called by the Police at 14:34 to assist in the recovery of a deceased walker who had been found at Hart Tor. Ambulance personnel had confirmed death, but were unable to evacuate the gentleman over rough moorland. We deployed a stretcher party from Soldiers Pond car park and recovered him back and handed over to the care of undertakers at 16:10. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.
