8.4.2023 Injured horse rider near Hawks’ Tor

Incident 6. DSRT Plymouth called DSRT Tavistock at 12.23 to request our assistance with the evacuation of an injured horse rider near Hawks’ Tor. The male rider had fallen from his mount and was suspected to have sustained rib fractures and was unable to walk off the moor.. Members from both Teams were deployed to the incident site to assist South West Ambulance personnel and the casualty was transported in a six-wheeled Polaris vehicle down to an Ambulance at the roadside. Members of Tavistock team assisted in transferring him into the ambulance. A successful multi-agency operation. We wish him a speedy recovery.
