While staffing a checkpoint on the Abbot’s Way Walk we were alerted to an incident near Plym Ford, where a male walker had sustained an injury to his foot. One of our hill parties went to the site and administered casualty care and a Team Land Rover was deployed to transport further kit and a stretcher to that location. The casualty was evacuated from the Moor to the road at Peat Cot. A family member collected him for transport to hospital, where it was confirmed that he had sustained a fracture..
