21.12.23 Assist Ambulance Service with a patient

Incident 25. DSRT Tavistock was called at 05:54 to assist South West Ambulance Trust personnel in removing an 84 year old male patient from the upper storey of a cottage on the outskirts of Lydford, near the National Trust White Lady Waterfall car park. Due to the narrow staircase a stretcher could not be used, and so team members lowered the gentleman using a vacuum mattress and then transported him down the track to the waiting Ambulance. We wish him a swift recovery.
