Incident 6. DSRT Tavistock was called at 15:03 to assist with an incident by Devonport Leat, north of Crazywell Pool. A 13year old girl in a team training for Ten Tors had collapsed and was drifting in and out of consciousness. Evacuation by helicopter was prevented by very low cloud.
We deployed a hasty team to go to the given location to assess the casualty, and soon after a team Land Rover with stretcher and other medical kit was deployed from Norsworthy Bridge, Burrator. Supporting members set off, escorting two South West Ambulance personnel to the site.
Following assessment by a team Doctor the casualty was taken down to the track and transported back to Norsworthy Bridge in our Land Rover. She was transferred to the Ambulance at16:45 for further care. We wish her a speedy recovery.
