07.06.2024 Two dog walkers lost in Lydford Forest

Incident 21. We were called at 1710 hours to search for a pair of dog walkers disoriented in Lydford Forest.  We were unable to contact them by mobile phone as their battery was very low when calling 999.  As the first team members arrived we learned that the Police helicopter had located the pair, so team members accompanied the Police to meet them, followed by Land Rover 53.  The walkers were uninjured and in good spirits and returned to the car park in a team vehicle.  The team was stood down at 1803 hours.

Thanks to North Dartmoor SRT for sending their control vehicle, as ours was at the garage today, in case it turned into a long search.  Thanks also to Devon 4×4 Response for mobilising 2 vehicles so we could transport teams quickly to the bottom of the woods.
