Incident 30. The Team was called at 18:30 to assist a group of three walkers, one of whom had sustained an ankle injury and was unable to walk. Our initial team of two, including a doctor, reached the site at 19:50 and assessed the casualty. Shortly afterwards the rest of our members arrived with a stretcher and medical kit. Once analgesia had been given and a vacuum splint had been applied the casualty was loaded onto the stretcher and the whole party evacuated back to Postbridge, where the casualty was handed to the care of waiting Ambulance personnel. We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.

This type of accident can happen to anyone, and shows the importance of being able to give your accurate location and having adequate equipment. This group had a shelter, appropriate clothing and provisions.
