Incident 39. Our sister team from Plymouth called us at 08:00 to assist with a search for an overdue serviceman who had been on a solo night navigation exercise. He had last been seen at Ditsworthy Warren House at 21:30 and had not been located during an overnight search by his colleagues. We had already deployed an air-scenting Search Dog team and a Hill Party before we had news that the subject of the search had been contacted and was out of his exercise area, and located on the road West of Peat Cot. He was unharmed and collected by military transport.
