29.03.2025 15 year old with hypothermia , Beardown Tors

Incident 9. Our Team was called at 21:16 to assist a teenager who was part of a walking group who had completed 36km that day. They had set up camp for the night, but the adult escorts called for assistance as they had concerns for her welfare because she was assessed as hypothermic and with low energy level. An initial fast-moving Hill Party was deployed to go to the casualty to make a detailed assessment and took an insulated Casualty bag to provide the subject with extra warmth. A second Hill Party then deployed into the thick mist taking further medical kit and a wheeled stretcher. Having rested and been warmed the casualty was able to walk downhill, escorted by our members, and then transported by a Team Land Rover to the RVP, where she was handed over to Ambulance personnel. We wish her a full, speedy recovery.
