Incident 20. At 17:21 the team was called at the request of the Ambulance service to extract an injured person from the upper part of Tavy Cleave. Hill parties were deployed from Willsworthy Butts, along the track by Land Rovers to take a stretcher and medical equipment to the casualty site. Rope rescue kit was also taken for security on the steep ground. The casualty was unable to stand or walk without pain and so the leg was splinted, pain relief administered and then the casualty was stretchered by team members to an ambulance at Lane End. The other two walkers were uninjured and able to walk off with the stretcher party. It was a challenging route off and took almost two hours, with the casualty handed over to paramedics at 20:50. Our thanks to Devon & Cornwall 4×4 Response for providing two vehicles for logistical support. We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
