The team was called at 14.46 to attend to a walker in a rambling party who had sustained a leg injury jumping across a river near Cuckoo Rock (Burrator).
The group, who were well equipped, took appropriate action; with the majority returning to the car park whilst others stayed with the injured person to await assistance.
We are able to make contact with the casualty site and obtain an accurate grid reference.
The first team members deployed with a paramedic from SWAST to assess the casualty. A team carrying splints and a stretcher followed.
The Devon Air Ambulance was able to land near to the casualty site and team members assisted carrying the casualty to the helicopter.
All other party members were escorted safely back to the cars at Norsworthy Bridge.
Two Devon 4×4 drivers attended to assist with transporting team members. We were stood down at 17.24
We understand the casualty sustained a broken leg and we wish them a speedy recovery.
