05.03.2026 Walker stuck in mire, north of Wistman’s Wood.

Incident 6. The initial SARCALL came from the Police at 11.03 reporting a person stuck in marshy ground and that the Fire Service had requested our assistance. Her location was given as north of Wistman’s Wood near the weir.
On arrival at the RVP at Two Bridges we were informed that fire service personnel had already deployed. Team members followed with a stretcher and medical kit as we understood that the person had a lower leg injury. An Argo Cat ATV from Tavistock Fire Station Station was also deployed and managed to get close to the casualty site and was used to transport the casualty back to Two Bridges. She was then fully assessed by two of our Team medical technicians before being transported to her car in Princetown. It was another successful example of good joint-agency cooperation.
Team vehicles returned to our Rescue Centre at 14.00
