29.03.2026 Medical assistance, Fur Tor.

Incident 12. The Team received a SARCALL message at 02:04 as South West Ambulance Service was requesting assistance for a lone diabetic male at Fur Tor who was suffering from low blood sugar. A full team callout was initiated to RV at Baggator Gate and a HM Coastguard Rescue helicopter was requested to attend due to the urgency of the incident.
A hasty hill party was deployed toward Fur Tor with a second party readying to take further medical kit and stretcher.
Rescue helicopter 924 arrived at the casualty site at 03:38, assessed the casualty and prepared to evacuate him from the moor. At that time we were alerted to another casualty incident at Wild Tor, and we informed the aircrew of that. They were then tasked to that additional incident by Ambulance Control. Our Control remained at Baggator Gate until the helicopter had lifted from both incident sites with a number of casualties on board. We then stood down and our personnel and vehicles returned to our Rescue Centre at 05:.20. Once again an excellent result from multi-agency cooperation.
