We are sad to announce that Bud Francis, one of our life members and former team leader of many years has passed away aged 83. Bud joined the team in the early 1980’s and served for over 25 years before ill health forced him to stand down.

The funeral will be held at St. Mary’s Church, Walkhampton at 1200 hrs on Friday 27 March.

The team has a second author!

Henry Guly who served with the Team for 36 years and is one of our distinguished Life members, has written a book called Moor Rescue. It tells the story of Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team – Tavistock from its origins in 1968 to the present day. It’s a must for anyone who loves Dartmoor or is interested in the team’s work. The book is privately published with all proceeds going to the team. The cost is £15.

Copies are sale and if you would like to purchase one, please write to Alice at Books@dsrt-tavistock.org.uk
