18/04/2022 Missing High Risk Teenager

Incident 10. The Police called at 20:00 to request our assistance in a search for a teenage female, believed to be at high risk. She had been missing since mid afternoon and a message suggested she was in woodland in the Walkham valley between Horrabridge and Gem Bridge. Police officers and a helicopter from the National Police Air Service had already begun the search. On arrival at the RV point at Bedford Bridge car park, as darkness fell, our first deployment was to the far side of Gem Bridge and another was along the cycleway on the old railway line. Information from the helicopter indicated that the subject was below Gem Bridge. Police officers made first contact and then she was examined by one of our members, a paramedic. Fortunately her injuries were not serious and she was transported back to the RVP in a Team LandRover. A good outcome from inter-agency working.
