Incident 19. DSRT Tavistock was called at 13:27 by the Police who requested us to recover an injured walker from Foggintor Quarry. The 61 year old lady had sustained a suspected fracture of her right ankle when stumbling on rough ground in the quarry. She was located within 20 minutes of the callout message and her injury assessed. After the limb had been splinted she was stretchered out of the quarry via the boggy southern exit and transferred to a Team Landrover. A SWASfT paramedic arrived and reassessed the casualty and gave further analgesia. We transported her to the public highway where the Ambulance personnel took over her care for transport to Derriford Hospital. We wish her a smooth recovery.
