Incident 4,.5 At 16:23 on Thursday 1st Feb the Police called us to search for a male who had gone missing near Norsworthy Bridge, Burrator at around 09:00. A search by a helicopter from the National Police Air Service had not proved successful. At 19:30 at Burrator reservoir it was agreed that due to weather conditions the use of air-scenting Search Dogs was not likely to be effective in dense woodland, and that human searchers in the same terrain in the dark were likely to fare no better when looking for a subject reluctant to be found. It was agreed to wait until daylight.
Today an early morning search of one plantation was carried out by Search Dog Bonnie and that was followed by a search by a hill party in an adjacent plantation. The subject was located at 11:00, unharmed by his overnight experience. He was escorted back to Norsworthy and handed to the care of the Police.
