Incident 30. We were called today at 12:29 to assist the Ambulance service with a walker who had fallen on some rocks near Leather Tor and injured his hip. Team members headed to the RV and our first team set out to reach the casualty, arriving with them at 13:07. A stretcher team followed, arriving shortly afterwards and the Ambulance crew were taken close to the casualty location in one of our 4×4 vehicles. Our Remote Rescue Medical Technicians worked with the ambulance crew to assess and treat the casualty, who was then loaded onto a stretcher and carried back to the road, where the ambulance was waiting.
Vehicles were returned to the rescue centre at 14:30, with all team members returning to their Sunday afternoon plans! We hope the casualty makes a speedy recovery.
